Will time travel ever be possible?

Why don't you just watch Back to the Future?
That was real funny Sal, why don't you ever make a positive contribution to any debates?
I don't think so. How can you travel back in time when people are already buried. Time just goes forward, it cannot go backwards. However, recent science shows that time can be slowed down at very high speeds, but nothing about going backwards.
Due to the paradox factor I would have to say no.
The same person or object cannot possibly exist twice at the same time.
Just my not-so-humble opinion.
Is it fun to dream about it though isn't it?
As long as the science fiction genre is alive and well, so time travel will be thriving…
Never say never
That is impossible, because when ever it will happen, the world will collapse.
We cannot do anything to change the past, because, changing one event in the past (even just watching), will make a leak in the main chain of power distribution, and it will swallow everything. Think about it like a black hole (but it is not a black hole, it is worse).
The only way to know the past history, is by tracking the traces and reading the written knowledge.
But seeing the future is a different story. Because, seeing it does not change anything in the future because nothing of the future had ever happened yet. It is just a vision drove by current chain of power distribution, and caused by some supernatural being. And I think it is a high evidence of contact with a supernatural being.
Stephen Hawking said so. Its gotta be true!
If you could somehow go to the future, you wouldnt necessarily be going to the future, you would be going to YOUR future. What i mean by that is that when you left in your time machine so many things happened that could change the outcome when you get there.
Its like if you weant back in time and talked to a Roman and were wearing jeans and a northface, you would come back here and there could be giant butterflies controlling humans. Thats a little extreme. But it makes sense that every little thing you do has an effect on the world.
Einsteins Law of Relativity states that time being relative to the observer and all, a trip to Alpha Centuri at 4LY away would take 4 years at light speed (the current theoretical spacial speed limit) In the four years to travel there, see that theres nothing to look at over by Alpha Centuri, and four years to travel back, approx 50 years would have passed on Earth…. thank relativity for that one. So technically it is possible to travel INTO the future…. get where I'm going with this? but you can't travel back…. make sure the cat has lots of food before you leave.
I am of the opinion that time travel is is generally inplied is not possible, so far as we know as of yet. My reasonsing is that, at least with the past, there is nothing left. Time is gone. while time is relative, everything in the universe is existing right now, this current second. It's just so far away that we have to reference it in units of time, such as lightyears. The past doesn't exist. It's done. Just like history is only a record of things that happend. you can't go back to something that doesn't exist. Time doesn't sit on a road for you to backtrack. once it's happened its over.
The same applies to traveling in to the future. The future hasn't happened yet so all you would be doing is waiting in pseudo-limbo until the future happens, or traveling so fast that you've went so far, that you are just arriving in the future, not jumping to it. Also, you couldn't "go back" once you arrived because all of existence would have already moved on.
When we talk about time travel we really need to be more clear and say that we are talking about going faster, because time is really all about speed. Time doesn't exist as we think of it. We're only noting the passage of time and calling that observance passage. It's all about distances and speed.
i personally dont think so…but ill end this comment as i head off to dream about all the wonders that "could" be!
Wow!!! I have never heard it put in that way before.. That is actually very interesting.. It really made me look at it in a total different aspect. So goes the saying "live life for today" Thank you..
